The Muscular and Skeletal Systems Learning Board provides a wealth of information about how these systems work. Focusing upon the human arm, children can lift and drop the forearm to give an insight into the bones and muscles working together around a hinge (elbow).Our skeleton (bones) and muscles function together (known together as the musculoskeletal system). The skeleton supports the body, keeping it upright and the muscles enable it to move. Our bones are strong which helps to protect our vital organs such as the brain, heart and lungs.  The muscles which connect to the skeleton contract (pull) to move them. Pictures with labels and interactive push buttons light up various key areas. Using the board as a first introduction to the subject provides a wealth of information, discussion points and key scientific vocabulary.
